Designed for entertaining there are two fabulous undercover dining areas; one completely enclosed with screens and louvre windows, and the other a sun drenched deck with views over the vineyard. Catering for your guests will be a pleasure in the fully equipped contemporary kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine, large chefs' oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher and all the modern conveniences. On those chilly evenings relax in the open-plan lounge room and sit back with friends and enjoy a bottle of wine beside the roaring combustion log fire. Enjoy exclusive use of the sparkling pool in summer and equipped with reverse-cycle air conditioning this makes the Retreat a perfect choice all year round. If you are feeling energetic enjoy a game of tennis on the Retreats private court or take a stroll through the grounds and visit Peter Drayton's cellar door for a memorable wine tasting.
A great way to explore the area is by bike on the brand-new cycleway that runs all the way along Hermitage Road, linking more than a dozen wineries along the vine-lined route from the New England Highway in the north to Broke Road in the south. There are several places where you can hire bikes on the Trail and set off on your two-wheel adventure.
Popular for bridal parties and wedding guests of Ironbark Hill, the Retreat is the ideally located to the venue as well as the best cellar doors and restaurants that the Hunter Valley has to offer.
The accommodation consists of 5 bedrooms plus 3 bathrooms (two ensuites), allowing accommodation for up to 15 guests in total comfort.

The Minimum Booking price is based on up to 12 guests. Any guests above this number are chargeable on a per person/per night rate. The system will automatically calculate the correct rate when you enter in the required number of guests. Any guest number reductions are non-refundable.

One night stays are available midweek and will attract a surcharge. Weekend one night stays may be available from 7 days before the arrival date and will attract a surcharge.
Weekend Public Holiday bookings must be a minimum 3 night stay at full weekend rate. Easter, Christmas and New Year are a 3-4 night stay and charged at full weekend rate.
Concerts weekends in the Hunter Valley do have a set minimum to stay and may attract a surcharge
Pools: If the property has a Swimming Pool then it will be open for swimming for the September NSW School Holidays and closed and Winterised immediately after the NSW Easter School Holidays has completed.
Fires and Firewood : If the property has a Wood fireplace or Firepit then firewood will be provided after the NSW Easter School Holidays up to before the NSW September School Holidays has commenced.
Guest Registration : Before guests are able to access the property, we will require an online ID check (scan drivers license) and also a visual Credit Check (scan credit card). The names on the ID and CC must match the name of the guest. The Guest Registration Document that we ask the guest to sign is a PCI compliant, encrypted and totally secure and trusted process, now used by 75,000 guests. This process is consistent and similar to what Hotels require for for ID prior to allowing access to a room.
Please also note that we may have installed a Wifi security camera at the front entrance of the property. We are progressively rolling these out through every property in 2021.
